Public/Private Partnership

DHA has forged unique strategic partnerships in both the public and private sectors. The partnerships have allowed DHA to develop whole communities that meet not only the needs for safe and affordable housing but offer support programs that address issues such as employment, childcare and education.

The theory behind the public/private partnership is that two, three and even four organizations and businesses working together toward a common goal are better than one.

A partnership allows an organization such as DHA to benefit from the business knowledge, fiscal strength and professional contacts of a non-government, for-profit organization. It allows local businesses to step in and show their support for their community and participate hands-on in a community endeavor. The partnership, because of its use of shared resources, is a win-win situation for the businesses and organizations involved, as well as the community and the individuals who benefit form the new housing that is created.
