Important announcement for landlords
As local property owners know, Dallas opened its arms and doors to hurricane survivors. If you are a property owner and are interested in assisting hurricane survivors in their transition from hotels
to apartments, or in their transition from Project Exodus to the current program executed by DHA and the state, you may contact:

Below is basic information about the program:
DHA will work with the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas (AAGD) to identify landlords willing to participate in the Interim Housing Program. DHA will maintain a roster of such landlords and
provide the information to evacuees searching for housing. Additionally, DHA will add landlords identified by evacuees to the roster. The process outlined below will be used to add new landlords to the

AAGD will forward DHA a list of landlords with available units.
Evacuees can also identify landlords with available units.
DHA will make contact with these landlords and forward a contract by mail, fax or in person.
The landlord must provide information regarding the unit size and rental rates.
The landlord must sign a contract and forward the document to DHA by mail, fax or in person.
Upon receipt of the contract, DHA will review the requested rental rates.
Upon approval of the contract, the CEO or her designee will sign the contract and forward a copy of the approved contract to the landlord.
DHA will add the apartment complex to the roster of available units.
Payment Process
DHA will enter into a contract with a vendor to process payments to landlords and maintain a database of information as identified by DHA. For a copy of the HAP Contract

Landlords will issue an invoice to DHA once monthly. The invoice will include a copy of the rent due for all renters.
DHA will forward payment to the landlord.
Families must be evacuees identified as participants of the city of Dallas’ Project Exodus program or evacuees with vouchers issued by DHA.
Landlords must forward the original vouchers with the invoice.
Upon receipt of the documents, DHA will prepare an invoice for payment.
The invoice for payment will be forwarded for electronic processing.
Payments will be made through direct deposit into the landlords’ bank account.
