In an effort to better communicate and to bring awareness about issues that affect property owners, DHA staff will host the following educational sessions on a consistent basis:
Landlord Roundtables: are held on the 2nd Monday of every month. Landlord
Roundtables are at 2575 Lone Star Drive from 9 - 11 a.m. The sessions allow DHA staff and landlords an opportunity to interact and answer questions.
Landlord Brown Bag Seminars: The 3rd Friday of February, May, August and November will consist of Landlord Brown Bag Seminars starting from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Seminars help educate landlords on their service responsibility and strengthen the partnership between DHA and themselves. Offered classes consist of information pertaining to evictions, how to screen positive tenants, inspections, leasing you property and much more.
Landlord Workshops
DHA offers free workshops several times a month that help landlords understand the DHA Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher program guidelines. No reservations are required.
The workshop addresses topics such as:
• Areas of operation
• Bonus qualifications
• Eligibility criteria
• Listing property
• Showing, screening and selecting procedures
• Payment standards and rent amounts
• Rent reasonable survey
• Inspections
• Lease execution

Workshops are not conducted on major holidays, including Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Columbus Day and Veteran's Day.
